Symposium and Workshop Proposals
We encourage any interested scientists, students, and teachers
to develop a topical symposium and/or workshop. Persons interested
in submitting a proposal for a symposium and/or workshop for the
2009 AAAS SWARM Division Annual Meeting should complete the on-line
submission form below. Symposia should be at least 2 hours in duration
and may be up to a full-day or longer (typically, symposia are scheduled
for a ½ day or full-day session). Individual presentations
are usually scheduled for 30 minutes, but individual presentation
lengths are at the discretion of the organizer(s). Workshops must
be at least 1 hour in length and can run any length of time up to
a full day.
Upon receipt of a proposal, the organizer should receive word within
5 business days whether or not his/her submission has been accepted.
Upon acceptance, it is the responsibility of the organizer(s) to
line-up and contact their speakers and make sure the required information
is submitted before the deadlines. Deadlines associated with symposium
and workshop proposals are listed below. We encourage early submissions
to adequately publicize your event.
- Jan. 25, 2009: Submission deadline for symposia/workshop proposals
- Feb. 10, 2009: Deadline for list of speakers, titles of presentations,
and symposium/workshop
schedule.
- Feb. 18, 2009: Deadline for presenters’ abstracts and
registrations (go to abstract and registration web page)
