AAAS-SWARM Executive Committee and Balcomb Award Nominations
Executive Committee
Nominations are now being accepted for the following two positions
on the SWARM Executive Committee:
- President-Elect, 2009-2010
- Colorado/Wyoming Representative, 2009-2012
All SWARM Executive Committee members are expected to attend the
SWARM Annual Meetings during their terms and take an active role
in planning the Annual Meetings and other activities of the Division
(publications, outreach, etc.).

Deadline for nominations is March 15, 2009. A general election
will be held during the SWARM Annual Business Meeting, March 30,
2009.
Balcomb Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Balcomb Award.
This award is given annually to a community college or junior college
teacher within the SWARM Division’s geographical region who
embodies excellence in service and leadership in science education
and teaching. The award consists of a plaque and check for $250.
Persons wishing to submit a nominee should send the nominee’s
CV and two letters of support to David Nash at the above email or
mailing address. The winner will be notified prior to the 2009 Annual
Meeting and the award will be presented Tuesday night, March 31,
2009 at the Annual Meeting Awards Banquet. Deadline for nominations
is March 15, 2009.
